A Small Light in the Midst of the Storm

When a life is mourned in darkness, there will be no way to find a way out. But when we rise and seek the light, God will send many candles through kind-hearted people. That is the story of this little boy named Tofilus Manu, often called Vilto. He is now in the lower class level, the son of Mr. Jeter Manu and Mrs. Norce Bahan. This small family lives in Fatukopa Village, Noebian Hamlet. Vilto is like a small candle that can light up a dark room—bringing joy and happiness into his family’s life.

Vilto is an obedient child in class; he always completes his tasks with great enthusiasm.

After school, Vilto helps take care of his baby sibling and assists his father with preparing copra (dried coconut), which is weighed and sold at the market to meet their daily needs.

Every day, he arrives at school on time. Even though the distance from his house to school is about 1 km, his spirit never fades. After school, besides helping his parents, he never forgets to do the homework given by his teacher. His parents are very proud to have Vilto attend PAUD Yayasan Tangan Pengharapan Tuapene, because in addition to learning, he also receives nutritious meals from Tangan Pengharapan.

Vilto has shown significant positive changes—he no longer disobeys his parents and loves to help at home. After school, instead of playing, he still has the motivation to study. I hope that Vilto, this small candle, will grow into a bigger and brighter light—growing into a stronger and wiser individual.
